Summary: Ilah seeks out her son for a life-changing discussion.

Ilah was not looking forward to this conversation. Her son was trying to work things out with the girl Azulon has betrothed him to in infancy. This revelation was the last thing he needed to hear. Not that other circumstances would've been much easier, given the nature of the news.

She sighed, irritated. Ten years since the last one. Ten. Years. Before that, they had come frequently enough--though only once successfully. And because Azulon refused to deal with it, she had to be the one to take on all the awkwardness, in addition to all the risks.

Ah. There he is. He looked nearly as frustrated as she felt. Things must not be going well with the girl.

He turned, hearing her approach. "Mother," he said, bowing politely.

"Good morning," she replied.

"Is something wrong?"

"Not exactly."

"What is it, then?"

Might as well get it over with. "Iroh, I'm pregnant."
